Silicone rubber refers to the main chain by alternating silicon and oxygen atoms, silicon atoms are usually connected with two organic groups of rubber. Ordinary silicone rubber consists mainly of silicon oxygen links containing methyl and a small amount of vinyl. The introduction of phenyl group can improve the high and low temperature resistance of silicone rubber, while the introduction of trifluoropropyl group and cyanide group can improve the temperature and oil resistance of silicone rubber. Silicone rubber has good low temperature resistance and can still work at -55℃. With the introduction of phenyl, it can reach -73℃. Silicone rubber is also outstanding in heat resistance, can work for a long time at 180℃, slightly higher than 200℃ can withstand a few weeks or longer time is still elastic, instantaneous resistance to high temperature of more than 300℃. Silicone rubber has good air permeability and oxygen permeability is the highest in synthetic polymers. In addition, silicone rubber also has the outstanding characteristics of physiological inertia and will not lead to coagulation, so it is widely used in the medical field.
Silicone rubber is divided into hot curing type (high temperature curing silica gel HTV), room temperature curing type (RTV), which is divided into polycondensation reaction type and addition reaction type. High temperature silicone rubber is mainly used to manufacture all kinds of silicone rubber products, while room temperature silicone rubber is mainly used as an adhesive, potting material or mold. Hot vulcanization type, hot vulcanization type and methyl silicone rubber (MQ), methyl vinyl silicone rubber (VMQ, the amount and the most product brand), methyl vinyl phenyl silicone rubber PVMQ(low temperature resistance, radiation resistance), other silicone rubber, fluorine silicone rubber, etc..
