2. Microwave drying method; Place the silica gel in the appropriate container and set the microwave power on medium to medium high Settings. Dry the gel for about 3 to 5 minutes to check for color changes. If the gel does not dry, stir it with a pliable spoon and heat it for another 3 to 5 minutes. At each inspection, stir the gel. Approximate drying time is 8 to 12 minutes per pound of gel. The actual heating time will vary depending on the type of microwave. You can set high power Settings, but be careful not to overheat the gel.

Dry silica gel safety precautions

1. Use only a very thick baking pan to dry. Because if they overheat, they can shatter. As a precaution, do not handle or remove the hot glass tray. Do not use plastic or microwave containers for drying silica gel, as hot beads may cause vegetable melt.

2, silica gel in the drying process will become very hot, do not attempt to deal with silica gel or container until it cools to a safe temperature. It is not recommended to move hot silicone, if you must treat it as if it is hot, use a heat pad. Be aware that glass may shatter if it is of the wrong type, too thin, or unevenly heated.

3. Do not overheat the gel. If you overheat the gel, you may ruin it, it will take longer and re-dry the gel. At high temperatures, not overheating. It is reasonable to re-dry small batches rather than large quantities, and an indicator of overheated silica gel is black silica bead.
